Overall a great sedan.

Pros: Long-lasting for the most part and comfortable. Cons: Audio system loses sound quality over time and the car’s value isn’t great nowadays. Verdict: One of Chevy’s best sedans that is comfortable to drive and only needs routine maintenance even at around 70,000 miles. It’s a shame the audio system didn’t last as long as the rest of the car. - 5.0

I have had my 2004 Malibu since 2010. The only things I have had to replace are the battery, the coil, and my tires. In the 13yrs I have had it, it has always gotten me wherever I needed to go and home again. I will keep it forever. - 4.0
Great car all around

12 years going, I have a Malibu Maxx V6 3.5 L and thought it ugly when I bought it used at 60k miles. Now has 212000 and counting. Strong engine and transmission. Always change oil at 3000-3500 miles. Don't mess with transmission fluid. I put in an ounce or less of transmission fluid as needed but it's rare. Mine leaks engine oil a little likely needs oil pan gasket. Read the manual to maintain it and you'll be fine. Very low cost to run probably $300 per year on average. Years go by before it needs something but it's all typical maintenance (alignment, brakes, etc). I've gotten 34mpg on highway, 27 around town. I drive it hard sometimes. Impressive MPG for a V6 which is the same as my Camry 2.2L 4 cylinder. Except for the usual consumables (oil, brakes, rotors, tires) this has been a really reliable car, the best I've owned so far. I've owned Toyotas (Corolla and Camry), 1986 BMW 635csi, Honda Passport, 2001 Suburban, 240GL Volvo and other cars/trucks. This Malibu has been really cheap and fun to drive, good performance, easy to work on. Good safety features and options. The bad is the interior wears out, radio buttons fade, leather seats get dirty quick.
